ORIENTAL BELLYFEST ASIA TO BE HELD IN GOA IN AUGUST

 

 

A belly dance festival is likely to be held in Goa in August-September 2010, according to a spokesperson for the organizers White Tulip Films. About 3000 professional and amateur belly dancers from Egypt, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and countries like Italy, Germany and other parts of Europe and USA are likely to participate, said Andy Sam of White Tulip Films.

 

Arrangements are underway and participants are expected to perform various styles, movements and dances at the week-long festival. While the dates of the festival and exact location will be announced in mid-June, the organizers have already got some 1400 plus participants who have confirmed their arrival for the festival.

Acclaimed belly dancer from India, Anaya Das will be performing at the open ceremony of the event, said sources. However, Anaya Das who is currently shooting for a Tamil film on the outskirts of Chennai was not available for comment.
